Our client is a growing Financial Services Firm (Hedge Fund Industry) with immediate need for a strong middle-office associate. Ideal candidate will be responsible for calculating daily P&L, OTC cash breaks and general trade support responsibilities.

Daily interation with Portfolio Managers, Traders and Senior Management, ideal candidate should be able to succeed in fast paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Assist daily portfolio management decision making by supplying investment product, trading and account data through use of  VBA, Excel, SQL, GENEVA and Access based tools
  • Contribute to the risk analysis of multi-million dollar trading issues by calculating potential portfolio impact across numerous products and asset classes
  • Responsible for facilitating $5 billion daily in equity, fixed income and currency trading of all discretionary and non-discretionary holdings
  • Work with Traders/Portfolio Manager to resolve daily trade breaks, upcoming options expirations and ensure OTC futures are properly reconciled
  • Ensure  daily & monthly P&L is reported accurately  in appropriate systems.
  • Review daily trades to make sure they have been booked correctly. 
  • Run ad-hoc trading inquiries on multiple products including: Muni bonds, equity derivatives, Interest Rates and Credit swaps.
  • Maintain documentation supporting the concluded valuation and detailed write-ups demonstrating the diligence in finalizing hard to value valuations.

Requirements

  • Finance/Accounting degree from an accredited Unversity or College
  • 3+ years experience in either Middle Office or Trade Support 
  • Strong Excel skills: Must be comfortable in the use of advanced Excel tools such as Pivot Tables &  Vlookups.
  •  Delivering a high level problem solving abilities, client is looking for an "out-side- the-box thinker"
  • Supporting market data applications used by various business lines.
